Theme A main idea or an underlying meaning of a literary work that may be stated directly or indirectly. A comparison without using like or as Repetition Repeated use of sounds, words, or ideas for effect and emphasis Fixed Form A poem that may be categorized by the pattern of its lines, meter, rhythm, or stanzas.
